Statement

As an artist, my goal is to illuminate the dialogue between colors through purposeful shapes and proportions. I’m fascinated by the connections between colors and the power that opposites hold, whether they pertain to color, shape, or texture, in story-telling. I’m most inspired by stories and emotions, which lend themselves so perfectly to abstract art because of the flexible boundaries and intangibility of its subject matter.

Biography

Heidi Hendrickson is an abstract artist in the Philadelphia area who is passionate about using color, shape, and texture to convey emotions and tell stories. After studying Fine Art and Art History at the Mason Gross School of Art at Rutgers University and receiving her Masters in Art Education at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, Heidi taught primary school level art for nearly ten years. Originally attracted to art by the allure of color, she strives to explore the relationships between colors and shapes in each painting, and to draw on her own imagination to create art that is both visually stimulating and impactful to viewers on a personal level.
